Residential & Business PC Repairs & Services

Testimonial by David Snape owner of Toothy Grin an online store (http://www.toothygrinstore.com).

One of the ways Geeks Now differs from every other computer service business is by listening to our customers needs and responding to these needs on an individual basis. Sometimes those needs require a complex technical solution and sometimes not so much so. David Snape owns 'Toothy Grins Store' a successful online business, and needed a way to stay connected while mobile. Clearwire offered both a fast 4G and affordable solution.

Call Vita at 913 906-9266 to learn more about how CLEAR 4G can work for you as well.

Rural and No Cable or DSL

About 6 months ago I needed to find a wireless internet provider, as I live in a lightly populated rural part of town, where our options are pretty limited. That is, no Cable and no DSL on the options list. And as you know, dial-up is not an option for working on or surfing the internet. For years I'd used Hughesnet internet satellite and was very satisfied. Hughesnet was fast and highly reliable; hands down, the best remote internet satellite service provider out there, bar none. That is, until I hit the 5 Gigabyte download wall. Who knew! So I started shopping for wireless internet.

As it is, it turns out Hughesnet satellite internet has a unlimited "Download Zone" between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m., and a free "Download Manager", so you don't have to stay awake to download large files; it does it automatically. Try doing that with a wireless 3G device. Huh?

When you need high-speed internet and your home or business is in a rural area, you're mostly ignored by the large high-speed internet providers. Chances are, if you're able to get high-speed internat at all; it's not quite what you expected.

Hughesnet offers high-speed downloads starting at 1 MBPs and as high as 5 MBPs, with upload speeds from 128 KNPs to 300 KBPs (Costs range from $59.99 to $349 per month). All you need is a clear view of the Southern sky. We''l do the rest. Call Us 913 906-9266 or 866 907-9323.

Wireless Internet, What Is it and What It Is!

Wireless Internet access using routers are what most people are familiar with today. And indeed using a Wireless Router at your home, office,  local courtesy hotspots (Revocup at College Square, McDonalds everywhere, community libraries, commercial bookstores, etc.) creates a ‘wireless internet’ local area network (WLAN), and as long as your PC / Laptop has a wireless WLAN card.

Now suppose a large communication company decides to get in the business of creating large hotpots across your town, city, or state, and extends these across the country, and call it 3G or 4G “Wireless Internet” right! You can’t separate the two, except by size, mode, and cost of delivery.

Such compannies include Verizon, Sprint, Team Mobile, AT&T, and others.

What is 4G

What’s 4G? With speeds 4x as fast as 3G* 4G provides you support for High-Quality Streaming Video. Fully implemented 4G enables simultaneous connections to multiple high-speed networks, providing seamless handoffs throughout an area.

4G uses orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) instead of time divisi...on multiple access (TDMA) or code division multiple access (CDMA).  Carriers differ on the use of Long Term Evolution (like Verizon) or WiMAX (like Sprint), but all agree that OFDM will be one of the chief indicators that a service can be legitimately labeled 4G.
